When you undertake Certification through the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB), you need retained welding engineers who will become active in your welding program to meet all the requirements in the most effective way.

Pow Tech’s philosophy over the years has been to work very closely with the company’s personnel and the CWB to both obtain and maintain certification. Our benefit to you comes through our understanding and experience with certification, our extensive knowledge and experience of welding, and our understanding of systems that keep you on course.

The Welding Engineering Division consists of Welding Engineers, Welding Engineering Technologists and Welding Engineering Technicians who understand the welding process and requirements.

How Do We Work With You Under Certification ?
  • Monthly In-Plant Meetings with your welding personnel to review and forward plan the overall welding program, to identify any non-conformance items, to plan any action required and to review welding in the shop.
  • Monthly reports to the Company related to the overall status of the welding program under certification.
  • Reports to CWB as required for certification.
  • Welding procedures prepared by us with your assistance and input. We submit them to CWB for review and approval. The Welding Procedure Data Sheets are developed on a CAD format from a very large data base which we have developed over the years. As a result, we can work with you to develop procedures with minimum turnaround time.
  • Your Welding Supervisor is key to the success of your welding program and certification. We work very closely with your supervisor and other welding personnel.
  • CWB Audit Reports are our concern as well as yours. We support you in dealing with any non-conformance items. Our basic approach is to keep ahead and not have non-conformance items.
  • Quality Assurance System, the welding program and documentation is part of the company’s Quality Assurance system and our experience with these systems is beneficial to your company..
  • Assistance with Weld Design for your engineering department. However, limited to general comments. Design of welds is available at an additional cost to our standard retainer fee.
