WELDING ENGINEERING SERVICES
Our team of Welding Engineers and Welding Engineering Technologists work closely with clients to provide welding engineering services tailored to their specific needs. These services include welding process recommendation, welding consumable selection, troubleshooting welding process problems, process optimization, welding process training, welding equipment selection, and more.
Our team can also develop Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) for various welding methods, including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and MCAW, as well as Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) development, witnessing, and finalization.
We are certified by the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) for CSA W47.1 and CSA W47.2 certification of companies for Fusion Welding of Steel and Aluminum. We also offer support for Division 1 and 3 companies certified to CSA W47.1 and CSA W47.2. Our team can provide American Welding Society (AWS) WPS/PQR support for companies and ASME Section IX welding, brazing, and fusing qualifications.
WELDING DESIGN SERVICES
Our team can provide welding design services for both statically loaded and cyclically loaded structures. This includes structural connection design for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and custom fabrications. We also have experience in dynamically loaded structures, including automotive carriers, bridges, overhead signs and light poles, and off-road equipment.
OTHER WELDING SERVICES
In addition to our comprehensive range of welding engineering, design, and inspection services, we also offer other welding services. These services include Ultrasonic Impact Treatment, welding process recommendation, welding consumable selection, troubleshooting welding process problems, process optimization, welding process training, welding equipment selection, and welder training.
WELDING INSPECTION SERVICES
We are certified to CSA W178.1 for Certification of Welding Inspection Organizations and have Welding Inspectors certified to Level II and III of CSA W178.2 for Certification of Welding Inspectors. We also have Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) Certified Inspectors for Magnetic Particle (MP) Inspection and Liquid Penetrant (LP) Inspection. Our team also includes Certified Welding Inspectors (CWI) from the American Welding Society (AWS).
ULTRASONIC IMPACT TREATMENT
Ultrasonic Impact Treatment (UIT) is a process used for fatigue life enhancement of welded structures. It involves using ultrasonic waves to create a compressive stress on the surface of the weld, which helps to reduce the likelihood of fatigue cracks forming. The benefits of UIT include increased fatigue life, improved structural integrity, and reduced maintenance costs for welded structures. Additionally, UIT can be applied to both new and existing structures, making it a versatile solution for a variety of welding applications.
HOW TO RETAIN WELDING ENGINEERS FOR CERTIFICATION
When it comes to certification through the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB), it’s essential to have retained welding engineers who can help you meet all the requirements effectively. At POW Engineering, we offer Welding Engineers, Inspectors, and Process Consultation for Weld Shops. We work closely with our clients to both obtain and maintain certification. Our extensive knowledge and experience with welding, combined with our understanding of certification systems, will keep you on course.
Our Welding Engineering Division consists of Welding Engineers and Welding Engineering Technologists who understand the welding process and requirements. Contact us today to learn more about our welding solutions and how we can help your business thrive.
